Working with a factory like this has been a dream of mine since I started Sonnet James. They are: 1. Women Owned 2. Fair Trade Certified 3. GOTS Certified (organic) 4. Training and employing local at-risk women who are living in poverty
Here's a little about them:
"We are committed to mobilizing the fashion supply chain to empower women, provide them with representation, respect and equitable economic and growth opportunities. One of our initiatives at Projecthrive is a sewing centre for at-risk women living in the industrial slums of New Delhi. The project aims to train and employ these women, and providing them stable jobs and fair wages. These women have daunting lives. They are often married off in their teens, not allowed to study or to work.
Our GOTs certification ensuring that every step of our production process meets the highest global standards for organic textiles, environmental responsibility, and fair labor practices."
I am so excited for this next step for Sonnet James.
